Another Bump in the Road

Good Morning! I must apolgize to my faithful followers for being absent from blogging for so long but I do have a reason, and I'm afraid it's another bump in the road to good health. I've been struggling with shoulder pain for over a year now, trying to avoid shoulder surgery with physical therapy and joining a gym, but I believe that the time has come to consider whatever surgery is necessary to get past the pain that keeps me awake most nights. So, with great sadness, I have to step down from the Doodle Pantry Design Team as it would not be fair to Laurie Wilson to ask for such an extended absence. I'm not sure what surgery I might have, as I have my first appointment with a shoulder specialist early next week. I will share what's going on as soon as all tests, Xrays and MRI's have been read and I've been given treatment options...I hope that you'll check back periodically as I intend to jump back into cardmaking as soon as physically possible. In the meantime, I would so appreciate your prayers for healing. Thank you!!!

Oh, Linda I'll miss working with you on Doodle Pantry!! But it is right to take care of yourself, and I'm glad you are. :) I'll be praying for you and your shoulder, and I'll pray for wisdom for the specialists! Take care! :)

Absolutely going to keep you in prayer Linda. I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this kind of pain. I spent the last month not getting a good night's sleep due to severe carpal tunnel syndrome and some nerve damage so I recently had surgery for that. Luckily it was a very quick healing process. But I know that shoulder surgery will be much longer. I pray the doctors recommend the right thing for you and that healing is quick and complete. We'll miss you at Doodle Pantry... you're so very talented and you always inspire me with your lovely creations. Hugs!

I think I'll miss you the most! But I do understand that you need to be feeling your best in order to put forth your best creativity. You've chosen to take care of yourself and that is the most honorable thing to do. Certainly wishing you a full recovery from the pain and keeping you in our prayers! Keep us updated girlie.

Hi Linda, I just read your post, and I feel I should share. In 2005, I took a bad fall and tore my shoulder up. Like you, it was months and months of physical therapy, try this med, try that med, attempting to avoid the surgery. It got to the point where I could not sit on the sofa and hold my DH's hand, and I literally paced the floors all night long. I had the surgery after about 6 months. and today, am very near 100%. It was SO worth it! The 'small' tear that showed up on the MRI that was to need only arthroscopic surgery, ended up being a ginormous tear that did not show up on testing, and required full surgery (after they tried arthroscopically). No wonder there was pain! Anyway, hang in there, have the surgery, and know that it will get better! There will be bad days, I don't think I've ever been through anything that painful, but I am so very glad that I had the surgery and did the necessary daily exercises and am now doing well. Please feel free to email me at mamagilliam at gmail dot com if you want to talk!!! Hugs, and best wishes to you.
